"Will someone please tell our resident Super Soldier that he's needed on 6th? Like...yesterday? Okay, yesterday the Chitauri weren't attacking and Banner and I were having freeze dried blueberries on the hellicarrier, but you know what I mean, stop being so critical and literal with everything I say. You guys suck." Stark burst across the sky over Thor's head and the blond turned towards the archer standing next to him. A smash of the hammer into one foe did not even cause him to look away from Barton.
"I do not understand many of the words that he speaks," the Asgardian confessed. "He has a conversation with no one but himself."
"Thank you, Captain Obvious," Clint said, shooting a flying mercenary through the eye while he watched Thor look even more confused. He found a new pasttime, he decided. But, like Tony, Clint wasn't exactly sure where Steve was. He's seen him in one of the buildings but after that-- Clint touched the side of his collar. "Cap?"
"Earth to Captain American, come in Captain America," Tony said, piping music into the background. There was a reason Natasha had taken out her earpiece. "Grandpa, you asleep?"

The whimper didn't really help and he could feel Tony press against his head which was just fine. He wasn't trying to pull away so that was a good sign. He took his time just lapping up the blood and maybe letting the man bleed a little longer than necessary just to be greedy.
"Easy for you to say," he breathed back.

He needed to sit. They probably should have cozied up on the sofa, but no one wanted that. It was too intimate. Too likely to lead to other situations that Tony wasn't so sure he was comfortable with just yet.
"It'll be at least a week before I can let you have more." Weird. It was like scheduling dates now around when it was safe to bleed.

He leisurely dragged his tongue across the last deep cut and cleaned the rest of Tony's hand of all the blood he could find.
Steve regretfully pulled back and nodded in understanding, "You don't have to hurt yourself, you know. That's what these are for." He briefly flashed his fangs.

He gently stroked Steve's cheek without meaning for it to be so affectionate and lightly pushed Steve back only to immediately grab onto him.
His knees were wobbly. Lack of sleep and food and now blood had left him exhausted. All in a good way.
no subject
The affectionate stroke was a little confusing but it was forgotten as soon as the man swayed on his feet and he caught him with a look of concern. He didn't think he took that much. "Are you alright?"
no subject
The drowsy smile never really left his face. Cadaver fangs wasn't sexy. It was funny but really not sexy st all. Having strong arms around him, however, now that was pretty damned sexy for reasons his brain wasn't willing to get into right now. He let his head fall towards a well muscled shoulder.
"Actually I feel pretty good," he yawned. "Won't be having scotch before you test those fangs out next time though. Bedroom is around back by the porch. You're super strong, care to give me a lift?"
Worth a shot.

"Yeah, sure," Steve nodded and promptly swept Tony's feet out from under him. It was completely effortless. "Just watch your head."
no subject
"Why...do you sprout spikes too?" Just a tease, but he felt punch drunk and comfortable. He'd not felt comfortable since the day... He actually hadn't slept for more than an hour here or there either. In Steve's arms-- Okay, he really had to make sure this didn't become a thing.
He got to go on the rollercoaster ride of being a vampire...um...what? Feeder? That sounded a little too into nature for him actually. Steve wasn't a horse. He wasn't a salt lick.
"To the left, back there."

He wasn't sure he was following Tony's rambling but that was okay. He didn't necessary need to so long as the man was comfortable and he glanced around the house as they moved through it.
Very beautiful and a little fancier than he was used to but he could still appreciate it.
Honestly, he didn't know what to call it either. Steve really wasn't thinking about it. Putting a name to it would just make it weird. "Nice place," he said as he maneuvered Tony into the bedroom.

"Does me all right," he said quietly, letting his eyes shut for a moment before they entered his bedroom. His bed was plain but he liked it that way. Simple. Clean. He liked plain when he wasn't working, it helped him rest.
Rest. Ha!
It had taken the intrusion of a vampire he was denying that he was attracted to and cutting himself to feel the need to rest.
"You'll have to stay. California is t known for trees in these parts."
no subject
"I'm sure it does," he agreed with a nod. He was a little surprised how plain it was but he supposed everything couldn't be fancy. This was more his speed. Steve carried him right up to the bed and hesitated before he just laid him down.
"Are you sleeping in what you have on?" He asked, though he wasn't really sure how he would get anything else on. He raised his eyebrow, "what makes you think I want to see trees?" He was teasing, just a little, he had heard some things about them.

"I was just thinking about the shade," Tony mumbled. He was more or less dressed for bed already to be honest, that black tank and soft sweatpants all he'd had on when he descended to the lab two days before. "I'm fine," he muttered, stretching out once Steve let him go though he did end up pulling off the shirt.
The room glowed a soft blue there after, his nightlight and pace maker keeping him from ever being in the dark.
Crap this didn't post yesterday B|
Well that was considerate at least and it made Steve give him a warm smile before he even realized it.
When Tony pulled off his shirt, it was the first proper look that he'd ever gotten at the reactor. He was surprised by it though he didn't why. Logically, he knew the technology was far beyond complicated but the device itself looked so simple.
"I'll have to check them out," he replied quietly and he shifted toward the door. Standing here staring at Tony while he slept would just be weird.
no subject
Okay no. No you're not going to be an Edward Cullen creeper and watch him sleep, Steve! Tony frowned and frowned again before he turned his face up at Steve. "I don't care if you don't sleep. You can't just stand there and watch me. And you can't have free run of the house." What is he? A puppy? "I have experiments going on. So get into bed. No shoes. You can watch TV if you want. There's a blue tooth ear piece in the nightstand."
no subject
He was going to go do something--probably sleep--in another part of the house instead of staring. He frowned slightly at the order and he felt a little bit like a pet. Steve wasn't going to go around poking things.
"I do sleep," he said with a small scowl and bent down to untie his shoes. "During the day, when I can and it's not like I'm going to hurt anything on the couch."
Tony's bed, more than likely, smells like him. Steve wasn't sure if he could stand it.
no subject
But wasn't that what he wanted? To have his face in that scent? Tony smirked and rolled over. "I guess you're technically alive. And living creatures need to sleep," Tony mumbled before he rolled over onto his side, back to Steve, the motion wafting off his scent from himself and the sheets. Tony didn't spend a whole lot of time in bed, though.
It wouldn't be too bad for Steve to crawl in next to him.
"Seems like nature was cruel about the eating thing. How much of that do you need every day?" Mumble mumble. He was half asleep but Tony never shut up.
no subject
"Not much," he told him. "I usually only have something every few days. It's the urge that's hardest. I might not need it to survive every day but that doesn't keep me from wanting it all the time."
Hence why he was here smelling Tony. "I don't need as much sleep as you either. Just a few hours."
no subject
"Learn something new every day," Tony mumbled, feeling the bed dip as Steve came closer, the tip of his nose a little too close to the back of his neck not to be felt.
Tony didn't stiffen however. He was too comfortable to do so.
"Hey. Do I need to be worried that you'll maul me in my sleep or do you have a lid on that craving thing?"
no subject
"I'm still learning things. No one taught me how to do this. I figured it all out myself," he responded quietly and he wasn't touching Tony but he couldn't help leaning in for that sniff.
He shook his head even though the other man was faces away from him, "No, I have it under control. I won't touch you without permission."
no subject
That was... Sad. Tony glanced over his shoulder at Steve, at his closeness. He found that he didn't mind. He should, he knew it. He shouldn't have let the other man into his bed. He wasn't drunk enough for fooling around like that. Then again... This felt like drunkeness. Only... Better somehow.
"How did it happen?" He shuffled around to face the blond, dark eyes even darker under his lashes. "You weren't born like this right?"
no subject
Steve was quiet because it wasn't a story he liked to tell. "No, I wasn't born like this." Honestly, he didn't know if that was even possible. He really didn't want to find out either. He was perfectly okay with not knowing.
"I was walking home from the theater," he looks away. "A guy grabbed me, dragged me into an alley and that... was about it. I was only 90 lbs at the time and sick enough that I didn't have a chance against him. He left me there, probably to die, someone else showed up and finished it. They said 'sorry' and turned me into this."
no subject
Tony rolled over onto his back and for a moment, just looked up at the ceiling before he allowed his eyes to droop closed.
"Guess we just live in a more accepting time now. So welcome to the modern age, Steve Rogers. I promise we won't suck half as bad as the people you use to know." He smirked. "That one was intended."
no subject
He snorted, "I'll hold you to that."
His eyes drifted down to the reactor and he would understand if Tony didn't want to talk about it but he talked about the whole vampire thing, right? "What about... the reactor? Is there a story there?"
no subject
Tony kept his eyes half closed. "There's not really a lot to tell," he claimed though it use to make him wake up and think he was still there. He thought he was stronger than that, though, so he told no one.
His lips curved upwards slightly.
"I was with a military convoy," he said. "And we were hit. There are three little pieces of shrapnel in my heart. This thing keeps them from killing me. It's basically an electromagnet." Short. Sweet. No mention of his own weapons or Afghanistan.
no subject
"Sounds rough," Steve said apologetically. "It looks amazing though." He didn't know if that helped or not but it really was impressive.
