He realized, suddenly, that the man thought that meant he wasn't interested and his instincts--quite helpfully--informed him that anything he could get from Tony was better than nothing. He couldn't just let him leave. He knew he was going to seem desperate but he couldn't help it.

"Wait," he raised one hand. "I wasn't saying I wouldn't do it. I was just commenting. It'll still make them feel better."
